Calf Bäckchen was born at Gut Aiderbichl Deggendorf. His mother Indra had to be evacuated from a neighboring village in Deggendorf a few weeks earlier, as the dykes threatened to break during the flood of the century in Deggendorf in 2013. Together with other cows and the farmer's wife Edeltraud, she was housed at Gut Aiderbichl. On the day of the evacuation, Edeltraud approached us with a request: "May my cows and I stay with you? It was hard to refuse such a request and so Bäckchen was born in our care and allowed to stay forever.
