The gentle mare Cassandra had to go through a terrible experience. In October 2007, she was to be transported from Romania to Belgium, where she would ultimately die. Animal welfare activists were able to stop the transport as the animals were in a devastating condition. When Michael Aufhauser and Dieter Ehrengruber arrived on site, it was clear that the 21 slaughter horses had to be helped. The animal welfare activists were able to contribute a small part of the purchase price, but around 27,000 euros had to come from Gut Aiderbichl. When an animal-loving couple became aware of this, they offered to help us and covered a large part of the costs! Cassandra has found her forever home at Gut Aiderbichl Köllersberger-Hof!
