Unfortunately, we receive emergency cases like Cavalor's every day. His owners had a small horse breeding business as a sideline. They never claimed that their protégés would find good homes. If no buyers were found, they were slaughtered. The animals were kept accordingly. An animal lover contacted us and begged us to take Cavalor in. He was accepted shortly before the day he died. Unfortunately, our rescues are "only" symbolic, because every year more than 250,000 horses are transported to Italy on torturous death transports. Most of them are born to be slaughtered.
