The University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna has been conducting animal experiments with ponies for many years, as well as with other animals such as cattle, llamas and pigs. This is always for the advancement of veterinary medicine - but without animal suffering, as is known from other experiments. The research carried out in recent years, in which seven ponies also took part, has led to the further development of techniques in the field of anesthesia: Groundbreaking results that can ultimately help all horses! Eliot and his friends had now reached an age at which they should be withdrawn from research. The vet in charge wanted a safe place for her protégés where they could be treated lovingly. So Johnny, Eliot, Muck, Pascha, Pauli, Piccolo and Shaggy came to Gut Aiderbichl.
