We received an email from a long-standing Aiderbichler asking us to take in one of her foster cats. She has a feeding station for stray cats and also has 5 purr-fect tigers of her own. We learned that Fritzi's owners had to go into a care home and were unable to take their cat, whom they had loved dearly, with them. Fritzi was now homeless and without care. The cat seemed healthy and the lady lovingly took him in. She also took him for a health check straight away. The blood test revealed that Fritzi was FiV positive. The disease can only be transmitted from cat to cat. With this disease, however, the cat must be separated from healthy animals. Actually, there was already a place in a cat shelter, but the crushing diagnosis caused the admission to waver. And so the quiet request was made to Gut Aiderbichl. Fritzi was accepted and we brought her to Gut Aiderbichl Traisen. Old, sick and orphaned cats live together peacefully there. The mother cat was happy and Fritzi is happy, even though the cat can no longer purr for her long-time owners. Fritzi lives in Traisen in a group of FiV infected cats and enjoys being with the others.
