For cows to produce milk, they have to give birth to a calf every year - these are considered a "by-product". Bull calves like Prinz are particularly hard hit. Their path usually leads them to the slaughterhouse. But Prinz was lucky. An animal-loving lady fell in love with a little calf that she thought was a bull. Like all the other calves, it was standing alone in an igloo. As she knew what would happen to him, she took care of him. We were contacted via a sponsor. The farmer agreed to sell the bull calf. But to her surprise, it was not the little calf from the igloo. As she later learned, this calf was a female baby. After tough negotiations, she was also able to give the second calf a carefree life at Gut Aiderbichl. Heidi and Prinz now live together at Gut Aiderbichl Iffeldorf.
