Mimi belongs to the endangered breed of Zackel sheep. They used to be a typical feature of the Hungarian puszta. But unfortunately, due to industrialization, there are only a few thousand of them in the world today and they have almost disappeared from the scene. Little Mimi was born on a farm in Austria, but her life was not under a good star. Her mother died shortly after giving birth and no other Zackel sheep in the breeder's flock wanted to adopt the little orphan lamb. When Aiderbichler horse farmer Martina learned of this fate, she took the little lamb, who was only a few days old, to raise her with a bottle. Not an easy task, but thanks to our experience, Mimi made it.
