Oakland Lilly belongs to the Shire Horse breed. They are extremely gentle cattle horses and come from England. Here they were often used as draft horses. Not infrequently in breweries. Their owners, an elderly couple, lived happily together with their horses, like a family. This little paradise was suddenly lost when old age brought the couple to their knees. They were no longer able to look after their beloved horses sufficiently. A painful separation was imminent. In such cases, the dealer was already waiting to collect the horses and take them to a slaughterhouse. The happy horses had become death candidates. When we learned of this fate, we agreed to take them in at Gut Aiderbichl.
