When we saw little Pedro for the first time, we knew immediately: he was kept alone. Hardly any feathers on his face, chest and belly. A sign that the little cockatoo lacked conspecifics. Humans can never compensate for the affection they receive from their own kind. But there is no question that his owner loved his Pedro immensely. Because he wondered; what will happen to my friend when I am no longer alive? Because they can easily live to be 40 years old and usually outlive their owners by far. The animal lover took out animal insurance for Pedro and so he came into the care of Gut Aiderbichl in 2017.
