It must have been a terrible day for calves. The day of their auction. Afterwards, they are transported away close together on large trucks. Purzel would have ended up in a fattening facility. But then something unpredictable happened. At a traffic circle, the bull calf flew out of the transporter and crashed onto the road. Another calf turned back into the trailer... Animal-loving people driving behind the transporter could not believe their eyes. Before their eyes, a bull calf fell onto the road on the bend of a traffic circle. The driver had not noticed and drove on. They brought the completely frightened and exhausted animal to the side of the road. They carefully extended the calf's rope with a tow rope. The rescuers had the presence of mind to contact Michael Aufhauser in the office. In the meantime, the transporter had obviously heard from another passer-by that he had lost a calf and had turned around. The rescuers agreed that they would not hand over the 6-week-old bull calf without further ado. Michael Aufhauser spoke to the transporter and agreed with him that Gut Aiderbichl would buy the calf free and have it picked up by Aiderbichler Christian Kögl in less than an hour. The latter agreed. The little bull lies by the side of the road, almost without a will and exhausted to death. Then, after about an hour, Christian Kögl loads him up and Purzel's journey to freedom begins. Instead of a cramped fattening box, a life of happiness now awaits him. With lots of exercise and conspecifics who are allowed to live without fear and stress.
