The fact that Rosa and her mother can live in peace at Gut Aiderbichl today is thanks to a huge stroke of luck and their farmers. Mama Glück belongs to the Pinzgau breed of cattle, which is an endangered breed. She lived for many years on a small farm in Salzburger Land. The animals there live in suckler cow husbandry - bulls, young cattle, calves and cows share the pasture and barn. "Glück" gave life to several calves. But in recent years she has not become pregnant again. So the farming family had to make a difficult decision and part with her. What nobody suspected: Glück was pregnant and gave birth to a healthy calf in the butcher's stable on the morning of her imminent slaughter! Slaughter was no longer an option...
