Gut Aiderbichl received a call in October 2007 that saved the lives of 21 Romanian slaughter horses. Animal rights activists had stopped the transport in Lower Austria because the animals had been transported under inhumane conditions and some of them were even injured. Michael Aufhauser and Dieter Ehrengruber immediately got into the car and drove there. It quickly became clear that all the horses would become Aiderbichler. But the purchase price of over 30,000 euros had to be raised first. Thanks to the help of the animal welfare activists and a generous couple, the purchase was finally successful and Sternschnuppe became an Aiderbichler!
