Aiderbichler kittens

are urgently looking for a new forever home

From the perspective of an Aiderbichler

(written by Gisela Pschenitschnig)

Millions of cats live in European households. The number of unneutered cats fighting for survival on farms, scrap yards or on the streets is increasing. Countless cats are surrendered to animal shelters or abandoned because no buyers can be found for them.So the number of stray cats is increasing. They are feral or abandoned domestic cats that live outdoors all year round – whether in rural areas or in the city. The velvet paws roam the streets, search for food in the rubbish, enjoy mice and fight for survival.

Gut Aiderbichl Maria Schmolln is always a rescue centre for cats

The beads of sweat on the foreheads of the animal keepers in Maria Schmolln are not just due to the heat. Almost not a day goes by without the already huge cat family getting even bigger.
We receive cats from a veterinary clinic near Maria Schmolln, stray cats are handed in and some find their way to Gut Aiderbichl on their own. Perhaps their instinct drives them there? Maybe they feel: here I will be helped, fed and given all-round care.
How can we curb the growing number of strays? The only thing that helps is neutering. Cats can have offspring two to four times a year. The young cats are then sexually mature themselves at the age of between four and eight months. There are people who are against neutering strays because neutering interferes with a natural process and prevents births. The alternative is the spread of cat diseases and the unspeakable suffering of animals that have no home.

The carers’ helping hands fill the food bowls, wash countless cat beds every day, treat injuries, make room for pregnant cats … and then there has to be time to stroke the numerous purring cats, talk to them and make them feel welcome in the big cat house and that they can spend their lives here until they close their eyes one day.

Cat glut - cat glut ... kittens everywhere you look

At the moment, soft, gentle cat voices are “meowing” through the rooms in the cat house in Maria Schmolln. Patient mum cats lie down and suckle their kittens. When the little tummies are full of good milk, peace returns and the mums can relax.

The little kittens at Gut Aiderbichl Maria Schmolln are hoping for animal-loving people who want to give them a home. If you are interested, please contact tiervermittlung@gut-aiderbichl.com and find out everything you need to know about adopting a little Aiderbichl kitten.

I have never found love for people where there was no love for animals. Anyone who truly respects life also respects the animal, because life was given to both of us by God.

Sincerely, Yours, Gisela
