Maria's rescue was not under a good star. Animal lovers approached us and asked us to take in a dwarf calf. We agreed, but also mentioned that we would need some time to find a suitable place. The farmer was so annoyed that he simply sold little Maria to the butcher. When we found out about this, we went in search of little Maria and found her at a slaughterhouse. The butcher told us that this had been a last-minute rescue, as she was actually due that day. But thanks to the enormous delay of the vet, her slaughter date was postponed - Maria is now an Aiderbichler and can stay until the end of her natural life.
